Every week brings files, emails, new projects, and job lists. How much of this is different from the job you’ve done? Odds are, maybe not much. Many of our day-to-day tasks are variations on something.
Do not reinvent the wheel every time you start something fresh. Use templates–standardized documents as starting point. As soon as you save a variant of the template add, remove, or change any data for that exceptional document, and you’ll have the job done in a fraction of this time.

Templates take time to construct, and it’s easy to wonder whether they’re worth the investment. The answer: absolutely. Editing a template takes much less time than formatting something from scratch. It is the distinction between copying and pasting some text, or retyping it.
That is only one advantage: Using a template means you are less inclined to leave out key info, also. For example, if you need to send freelance writers a contributor agreement, modifying a standard contract template (instead of composing a new contract each time) ensures you won’t leave out that crucial clause about possessing the material as soon as you’ve paid for this.
Templates also guarantee consistency. Maybe you send regular job updates to investors or clients. With a template, you understand the upgrade will have the exact same formatting, design, and structure.
How to Produce Fantastic Templates
